Mead

Mead is an ancient style of wine made from fermented honey, water and sometimes fruits or spices for added flavour. With an origin dating back to thousands of years, it was widely enjoyed by the Vikings and the Greeks. Often associated with celebrations / rituals and considered "nectar of the gods" in some mythologies. It can be found as still, sparkling, dry or sweet all dependant on the recipe and fermentation process. Typically a pale straw to deep amber colour, complemented by its complexity from sweet (honey-forward) to dry palate. It's versatile and a historically significant drink still enjoyed to this day.
