The 1659 range of wines from Leopards Leap pays homage to the rich winemaking history of South Africa. The founder of Cape Town, Jan van Riebeeck and his wife, Maria de la Queillerie made the first wine from grape vines harvested in the Company’s Gardens in Cape Town. Leopards Leap Winery is located in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. They meticulously select the best grapes from the Cape Winelands and use modern winemaking techniques to produce this easy-drinking, value-for-money collection which celebrates this historical moment in South Africa’s viticulture story.
