Alvi’s Drift is the bridge Oupa Alvi built across the Breede River on the family farm in 1930. Grandson Alvi then name the winery after this landmark to honour their families long standing history and the river that feeds the vineyards. The 430 hectare farm located in Scherpenheuwel in the Breede River Valley has a large variety of soil types; varying climates and topography that influences the wines resulting in unique, complex and singular character award-wining South African wines.
