Backsberg was established over 100 years ago in the Simonsberg-Paarl wine region by Charles Louis Back. Four generations of sons have followed in his steps to build an internationally recognised, successful wine (and brandy) producing farm. They were certified as South Africa’s first carbon-neutral winery focusing on sustainably crafting world-class quality wines. Over the years they have won many awards for their contribution to the respect of the environment, ethical practices, sustainability and education.
