Bains Whiskey, was founded by sixth Master Distiller of the James Sedgwick Distillery, Andy Watts. The distillery is on the foothills of the beautiful Bainskloof Pass in Wellington, South Africa. The natural beauty of the area is where he musters his inspiration from. Andy, having had international experience in the art of whisky making, designed his own unique technique which sets it apart from traditional methods. His new style of whisky resembles flavours of American whiskies, balances it with the smoothness of Irish whiskies yet utilises South Africa’s own grain and fynbos. Time and patience is given to the process of twice maturing the single grain whisky. In the last decade they have won the World’s Best Grain Whisky, twice.
