Captain Morgan
Captain Morgan is a spiced rum brand that was founded in 1943 by the company Seagram’s. They purchased the right’s for production from a Jamaican pharmacy, and in 2001 sold it to Diageo (multinational drinks company). The real Captain Morgan (who it was named after) was a 17th century privateer (the good kind of pirate) who sailed the Caribbean on orders by the British Colonial government to protect their best interests abroad.
