Maker’s Mark was founded in 1958. It’s a well-known American bourbon produced in Loretto, Kentucky. It’s known for its distinctive red wax-sealed bottle. It’s made using a mash bill that primarily consists of corn, malted barley and red winter wheat which results in a smooth and approachable bourbon with characteristic sweetness and full-bodied flavour. It’s made using traditional methods of copper pot still distillation and aged in new charred oak barrels. It’s aged for around six to eight years minimum. Apart from its flagship bourbon, they also offer the 46 which has undergone additional ageing with seared French oak staves to impart extra depth and complexity.
