Together, husband and wife, Etienne and Lizanda Terblanche, set out to showcase a side of Pinotage that is not considered the norm. Husband and wife team Etienne and Lizanda Terblanche have been dreaming together since 2014.
Etienne was raised in a sleepy town on the Atlantic coast, serving fresh fish and pouring Chenin blanc over weekends in his parents’ seaside bistro. He holds a Master’s degree in Viticulture and Oenology from Montpellier SupAgro and a PhD in Pinotage from Stellenbosch University.
Lizanda hails from a maize-producing family in the Free State, a far stretch from any grape growing. As a Stellenbosch University-trained human biologist gone rogue, she has completed harvests in both Marlborough and Bordeaux. After many years plying her trade as florist, she now runs the show at the petit Maison Terblanche from start to finish.
