Vrede En Lust
Vrede en Lust was founded in 1688 by a Flemish Merchant called Jacques de Savoye. The Governor of the Cape allocated this farm to De Savoye, who fled Europe with his wife, Marie-Madeleine le Clerq, due to religious persecution. After 70 days at sea, they arrived in Table Bay on 26 April 1688 on the 160ft Oosterland.
Vrede en Lust is a family owned and managed winery located in the heart of the beautiful Cape winelands, only 60km from the heart of Cape Town. The popular winery offers wine tastings, winery tours and of course wine sales. Enjoy delicious breakfast and lunches at Lust Bistro. The estate offers a high end venue for weddings, celebrations and conferences. The boutique hotel has 20 bedrooms in a few different configurations all the way from the Vineyard Suites to the 4 bedroom historic Manor House.
