Boplaas 17 Year Potstill Brandy 750ml

This potstill brandy spent 17 years maturing in French oak barriques. The Klein Karoo’s climatic conditions have imparted flavors of ripe stone fruits, honey, herbal and floral notes, resulting in a sublimely smooth mouthfeel and finish. The grapes, picked at 18° Brix with high acidity (similar to Cognac), are fermented at 15-16°C. Fine aromas from Colombar grapes are enhanced by leaving the wine on the lees for malolactic fermentation before distillation, adding complexity. Distillation occurs in a 100-year-old Santagans copper still, followed by double distillation to 70% alcohol and aging in French oak barrels.
