Olifantsberg Syrah 750ml
R229.99
The Syrah is cultivated using both echalas (three sites) and trellised (two sites) methods on clay-shale soil rich in quartz rock. Their plantings span various aspects of the Olifantsberg mountain, ranging from 300 to 470 meters above sea level. The cooler microclimate of the traditional echalas vineyards contributes to higher acidity and distinct aromatic complexity compared to trellised vines. By carefully selecting from different Syrah clones (9, 470, 21, 22), they have further enhanced the natural complexity of their wines.
A complex wine with flavors of red and dark currant berries, complemented by sweet aromas of violets, liquorice, and pepper. The palate is refined with balanced acidity and tannins.
