Chamonix is a 300 hectare farm once part of the historic Huguenot Estate, La Cotte, dating back to 1688. It’s located on the eastern slopes of the Franschhoek valley. There’s 50 hectares of vineyards growing there and some of the highest altitude vines in the Cape Wine Region. Niel Bruwer is the wine maker and with a strong team they follow environmentally conscious farming practices. Grapes are then hand harvested, and using minimal intervention with traditional wine making methods spontaneous fermentation is allowed resulting in a pure, natural award-winning wines.
